Here I try to list all multimedia-related acronyms I can find. Acronyms are artificial words, put together of initials. Additionally, I also list related abbreviations, like ALGOL, COBOL, E-Mail, FORTRAN, Hi-Fi, MODEM, PhotoCD, V.n, X.n.

The format of the list items is:

acronym - meaning: [explaination]

The "meaning" shows capital letters that are used in the "acronym" - no matter where (beginning or center of the word) or whether it is usual in the English language. The explaination is optional and, if available, gives some further information that is not obvious and leads to other entries.

Most of the acronyms listed here originate from the computer field. So you can find, for example:
